VISUAL IDENTITY

Charlotte Perriand: Frames & Framing
   exhibition identity, branding, editorial design

Charlotte Perriand: Frames & Framing' is an exhibition that showcases the rich and versatile drawings and photography of Charlotte Perriand, the iconic French designer and architect celebrated for her significant contributions to the early modern movement. The title 'Frames & Framing' conveys the idea that Perriand's photographic and artistic works act as conceptual foundations for her innovative furniture designs.

A minimal and elegant design system was created for the show, featuring custom-made modular alphabets that spelled out 'Charlotte Perriand' as the main logo.
The distinctions among the letters—thin lines and tiny circles—are subtly and deliberately limited, reflecting the profound elegance and simplicity of Perriand’s design and her philosophy of functionality. The width of each letter was thoughtfully determined so that the negative space within each letter and the gaps between them would resemble the information displayed in a camera viewfinder. Similarly, the color palette was restricted to black and white, and a single typeface, “dazzle unicase”,  was employed.
